Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) - KA171

Action KA171 of the Erasmus+ programme promotes outgoing and incoming mobility between European and non-European countries (the so-called Partner Countries). Indeed, through International Credit Mobility (ICM), European higher education institutions can apply to their respective National Agencies for funding to send and receive students, PhD students, teaching staff and administrative staff.

This action aims to attract students and lecturers to European universities and at the same time widen the range of possible destinations by pursuing greater openness towards countries in the rest of the world. Participation in ICM enables:

  • to students to acquire abroad training credits recognised in their home country, thus adding value to their Curriculum Vitae in terms of employability and acquisition of transversal skills;
  • teaching staff to acquire new skills useful for their professional development, improve their language skills and learn new teaching methods;
  • to administrative staff to learn best practices useful for their professional development and to improve their language skills.

Eligible activities are:

  • International mobility for study 2 (60 gg.) to 12 months (360 gg.), in the case of long mobility, or 5 to 30 gg. in the case of Blended mobilities - short physical mobility;
  • International traineeship mobility 2 (60 days) to 12 months (360 days), in the case of long mobility, or 5 to 30 days in the case of Blended mobilities - short physical mobility;
  • International staff mobility for teaching (teaching staff) and training (teaching and administrative staff) from 5 days to 2 months. For teaching staff on teaching mobility a minimum of 8 teaching hours per week is expected.
